Inclusive sports are growing across the country and catching hold in California. This interactive presentation examines the laws pertaining to access and equal opportunity for students with disabilities in school sports programs. The presenters will explain how to develop inclusive school sports programs that provide program accessibility and sport-specific accommodations. Participants also will hear inspiring examples of how students with disabilities are currently being incorporated into the athletic programs of schools throughout the state and competitive interscholastic athletics. Since inclusive sports require a collaborative effort, special education and general education staff and administrators are encouraged to participate in this must attend session.
